Sibutramine belongs to a group of medicines known as anti-obesity medicines that can help you lose weight and maintain it.

It works by increasing the activity of two chemicals in the brain, called norepinephrine and serotonin thus promoting a feeling of having eaten enough (satiety) and reducing food intake, leads to gradual weight loss.

Sibutramine is used as a part of a comprehensive weight management program to treat:

• Patients with obesity-related diet and a body mass index (BMI *) of 30 kg / m² or more;
• Overweight-related patients and other obesity / overweight related risk factors such as diabetes or abnormal levels of fat in the blood.

Sibutramine is a central acting stimulant and is well absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract (77%), undergoes a considerable metabolism that reduces its bioavailability.

Dosage: take 1 tablet daily on an empty stomach.
